SUMMER BROADWAY CAMP

Does your child love being onstage?
Does your child love acting, singing, and dancing?
If so, this is the perfect one week summer camp for your child!
Open to ages 6-10, we offer children the opportunity to rehearse and showcase a musical to family and friends at the end of the week. Children will learn songs and dialogue from a classic children’s musical. Our own Westchester theatre and music students have volunteered to help and will be teaching the fun of singing, dancing and acting. They are so excited about this great opportunity to work with your children! We will also include fun theatre games and warm-ups! The campers will develop confidence, foster speaking skills, increase physical coordination, promote cooperative ensemble attitudes and expand social skills during the rehearsal and performance process. For their final performance on Friday, students perform a showcase for friends and family. Students will need to provide a sack lunch for each day. They may wear comfortable clothes they can move around in and soft-soled shoes. If your child has dance shoes, they may bring them but are not required to have them. We are so excited about this opportunity!
The cost of the one-week Summer Broadway Camp is $300.00 per child. You may write checks payable to "Westchester Theatre". There is no audition required for the summer camp.

We currently offer theatre classes during school from beginner to advanced (IB). Our classes range from sixth grade to high school students. Students are prepared professionally with tools they can use for the theatre: warm-up techniques, 'behind the scenes' work, vocal training, physicalization, characterization, various acting methods, improvisation skills, scene work, audition preparation for shows, college auditions, and much more!
Like most public schools, Westchester turns to the community in support of our productions to help underwrite the costs of these productions. Our fundraisers include student-run car washes, selling concessions at our performances, advertising in our programs, and t-shirt sales. The generosity of our community, parents and staff has allowed the theatre program here at Westchester to make improvements in our theatre and to help keep the arts onstage and off.
